Dusit
Hotel Dubai UAE 133 Sheikh Zayed Road
P.O. Box 23335, Dubai
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Special Rates:
Overview:
It is located on Sheikh Zayed road, a major
highway through the commercial centre of Dubai, on the same
block as the Crowne Plaza and Rotana hotels, near several
well known restaurant chains such as TGI Fridays, McDonalds
etc not to mention office blocks containing many international
companies.
The hotel appears very new, stylish, modern; it is two towers,
about 38 floors high, which join together at about the 23rd
floor so it looks (to musicians!) like a squat tuning fork
! The electronic room keys are in the same shape, which is
a nice touch!
Accommodation:
Our room was on the 26th floor;
when we stepped out of the lift we discovered that the rooms
are arranged off a balcony that runs around a central indoor
atrium which starts at a cocktail lounge on the 24th floor.
So from here upwards you would look down onto the 24th floor
lounge, and up to the ceiling above the 36th floor. Quite
impressive.
The room itself was very nice too. The layout seems at first
just standard; enter into a small hallway with the bathroom
to one side, continue into the room which is rectangular with
the bed on one side.
Well in the case of the Dusit, somewhat creative, with hints
of Thai culture. The bed is king size, with a firm but comfortable
mattress. Opposite the bed is the TV cabinet which also houses
a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities - hooray. The cups
and teapot are on a wooden tray, with the bottom covered in
rattan weave. There is one easy chair with foot rest next
to a round, glass topped table. All of the furniture is made
of a dark, richly coloured wood. The lamps are all wood, coloured
cold with splashes of red.
Facilities:
There is a rooftop
swimming pool on the 36th floor with fitness centre next to
it. If you prefer a beach, Jumeirah is 15 minutes away and
the hotel has access to one of the beach clubs (or maybe its
own beach club). There is also a beauty salon, gift shop,
a florist, meeting rooms, banquet or conference rooms, a ball
room, business centre and a travel agent.
Internet and email facilities can also be arranged in room
through the “smart TV” but these are at additional
charge.
