Try
Durley House dining. Although Durley House has no restaurant,
it offers 24-hour room service of meals prepared by its own
chef and served by the hotel's butlers. Dinner, - for one
or a group - is announced by the sound of a traditional old
service lift and served by a waiter at an antique dining
table. For those wishing to entertain, the hotel will organise
private cocktail and dinner parties within the privacy of
its guests suites.
The menu extends from snack items such as penne pasta with
fresh tomato and basil sauce, chicken Caesar salad, fresh
soup of the day, or a wide variety of sandwiches, bagels
and baguettes. If you are feeling a little more hungry, you
may be tempted by the deep fried haddock and dill fishcakes
accompanied by a crisp side salad, or grilled chicken breast
with mustard mash and mange tout? Having made your choice
and ordered, a waiter will appear to lay your dining table,
ready to serve your meal in the privacy of your own suite.
Alternatively, should you wish to cater for yourself, each
of the Durley suites have their very own kitchen. With Partridges
just up the street and further supermarkets on the Kings
Road, there's no reason why you cannot create your own gourmet
extravaganza - just like home from home.
When you are tired of shopping, why not just
stroll around the beautiful tree lined residential squares
- Eaton Square and Belgrave Square being just a stones throw
away. Across the street from Durley House is a hidden oasis
- that of the private park and gardens of Cadogan Square. A
small gate in the corner leads you down a hidden path, which
opens out to beautiful manicured lawns, herbaceous borders
and well kept rose gardens. These gardens are accessible guests
staying at Durley House. Tucked away in the depths of these
gardens stand two tennis courts. These can be booked via reception,
who can also organise for a tennis coach and the loan of rackets
and balls. |
