Like its neighboring countries of Singapore and Malaysia,
Brunei enjoys a tropical/equatorial climate punctuated
by high rainfall and sharp temperature throughout the
year. The climatic changes are from the influences of
the monsoon winds.
From December to March, you'll encounter the northeast
monsoon. The southeast monsoon occurs around the remainder
of the year from June to October. This is broken by two
inter-monsoon "sessions" from April to May and
from November to December.
Brunei generates a high annual rainfall. There are two
specific rainy seasons in the year. The rainy period is
from September to January with the wettest month being
December. The second wet spots are from May to July. Dry
times are from February to April.
You won't really encounter any drastic changes in temperature
throughout the year. It is rather uniform. The maximum
mean temperature is about 32.1 C while the minimum is about
23.8 C. Humidity is high throughout the year, thanks to
the high temperature and rainfall. Brunei can be heavily
affected by tides. |
