Trails run throughout the 200-acre property and into the adjacent Pico Bonito National Park. The Lodge at Pico Bonito donates a portion of its cabin charges to La Fundacion del Parque Nacional Pico Bonito, a not-for-profit organization that preserves and promotes Pico Bonito National Park.

A short walk takes you to the Tropical Butterfly Farm or you can choose to visit the nearby Amaras Bird Rehabilitation Center and tropical farms on horseback or mountain bikes.
