DINING
Founders Restaurant - The circular restaurant on the top
floor is a paradigm of French Renaissance style, with its
enormous domed ceiling, arched windows, and city views. Bronzes
of William Penn and Benjamin Franklin gaze on diners enjoying
breakfast, lunch, or a dinner from a menu emphasizing traditional
French cuisine. A new wine cellar houses 1,600 bottles.
Ethel Barrymore Room - Afternoon tea is the main event in
the Barrymore Room, the hotel’s former ladies’ lounge,
with an ornately detailed dome that’s a twin of the
one in Founders Restaurant. Cocktails and dessert are also
available.
Philadelphia Library Lounge - Dark woods, cognac, and cigars
set the tone in this lounge lined with 11-foot tall shelves
of books all by or about Philadelphians. A bar menu features
appetizers for two.
